Apple Advances AI with ChatGPT Integration in Devices
Apple has officially begun integrating ChatGPT into its devices, launching the update on Wednesday. The move fulfills investor expectations and is anticipated to boost sales of new iPhones. The AI-powered tools have been introduced through the latest operating system update for iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers, according to Reuters.
As part of the Apple Intelligence features announced in June, Siri can now leverage ChatGPT’s expert knowledge. Users can ask questions related to image details, documents, or presentations. Additionally, the new Writing Tools feature allows users to create content in any app and generate or integrate images using the chatbot's image-generation capabilities.
The update comes during the holiday shopping season, Apple’s most profitable time of year. However, the slow rollout of Apple Intelligence features has raised concerns about the potential impact on iPhone 16 sales. The update will be available on the iPhone 16 series, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. It can also be accessed on iPads with the A17 Pro or M1 chip and later models, as well as Macs with M1 or newer chips.
